Verse Study - Proverbs 11:16By: Lara VelezA gracious and good woman wins honor for her husband, and violent men win riches but a woman who hates righteousness is a throne of dishonor for him. ~ Proverbs 11:16 The word gracious comes from the Hebrew word chen (khane) and means; pleasant, courteous, good-natured, tender, compassionate, kindness, and merciful. On the flip side; unpleasant, ill-natured, haughty, cold, stiff, rude, curt, gruff, sullen, and mean. I am sure every Christian wife has expressed at least one of the flip side actions towards her husband or others at one time or another. Unfortunately, we tent to have blinders on to our own behavior. I encourage you to do a self assessment. Speak kind words to your husband and others. Keep a pleasant attitude in all circumstances. Show mercy...even when it is seemingly "undeserved." None of us really "deserve" mercy. Manifest warmth, kindness, and tenderness in your actions, words, and thought life. When you have a gracious heart and attitude, it brings honor to your husband...even when the graciousness is directed towards someone else. Till Next Month... God Bless, Lara ;) Copyright © Lara Velez Proverbs 11:16 | ||
