With God All Things Are Possible, including Marriage. Some days my husband and I get so aggravated with each other and I wonder, ?Who is this man?" ?This isn't the man I married.? ?Nobody told me about this before I got married.? Then, I remember that we said in our vows...?for better or worse...? YIKES. Did we really say that? Yep. I did and so did my husband. ?You mean we're not going to always love each other and float on cloud nine all the time?? Sorry to burst your bubble hun, but NO. Why is it that when we first get married we think everything is going to be sunshine and roses? We are seeing each other through those love blind, rose colored glasses. Then when you get into your first argument you act as if the entire world is falling apart. You start thinking, ?this is not the man I married.? Then the thought pops into your head, ?our marriage is falling apart.? LOL. Forgive me for giggling right here but we women are such drama queens. Why am I thinking about this today. Because earlier my husband and I had a disagreement, and it reminded me of that time when an argument about anything would give me those same thoughts. However, now when we disagree about things, my first thoughts are no longer ?my marriage is falling apart.? Many times my thoughts are now, ?Lord you gave me this man you better fix him before I lovingly smack him upside the head.? Okay, yes I am being funny, but I am serious too. Why do we think marriage is going to be any different from anything else that is meaningful in life. If you want something bad enough you are going to work at it. It's the same in a marriage. If you love that man enough you are willing to work at it. I mean marriage is hard, but a God ordained marriage is worth every minute of the work you invest into it. My marriage is not perfect, and I know that, but I am willing to work at it, and try to be the best wife that I can possibly be. You think, ?that is way to hard for me.? Not for me girls. Because I remember Philippians 4:13 ?I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ's sufficiency].? The Bible also says, ?But Jesus looked at them and said, 'With men this is impossible, but all things are possible with God'.? (Matt 19:26 AMP) So as I walk my journey as a wife of faith I hope you will be walking with me. I pray that my journey will help you in yours. I also hope that the work put forth in my life will be an inspiration for you to work in yours. As God challenges me, I will in turn challenge you. May God truly bless you on your journey as a wife of faith. Dianna Copyright © Dianna Auton, Wives of Faith With God All Things are Possible, including Marriage | |
